Frequently Asked Questions

What to Expect

What happens during a psychiatric evaluation?
We begin with a comprehensive evaluation, where our clinicians take time to know you – not just your symptoms, but your personal history, experiences, and goals. Rather than focusing solely on a diagnosis, we take a holistic view of your overall well-being, exploring how various aspects of your life may be impacting your mental health. This isn’t just about getting a prescription, but understanding you as a whole person to create the most effective treatment plan.
Do I have to take medication forever?
Treatment length varies for each person. Some clients benefit from short-term medication support, while others find long-term treatment helpful. You’re always in control of your treatment decisions, and we’ll regularly discuss your progress and options.
Can I continue therapy while taking medication?
Absolutely. We encourage the combination of medication and therapy for most clients, as this often provides the best outcomes. Our psychiatric providers work closely with your therapists and healthcare providers for coordinated and accurate care.
What if I don't want to start with medication?

Our psychiatric staff offers psychotherapy and guidance on lifestyle modifications. We respect your preferences and will discuss all treatment options. Sometimes therapy alone is sufficient, and we can refer you to our experienced therapy team. Medication and treatment is always your choice and done only with your approval.

Do you offer bilingual or interpreter services?
Yes! We partner with Language Services Associates to provide professional interpreter services at no cost to our clients. If you need language assistance during your appointment, let our team know when scheduling and we’ll make sure an interpreter is available.
