What to Expect

What technology do I need for online therapy sessions?

You just need a reliable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone (computer, tablet, or smartphone), and a private space where you won’t be interrupted. We use a simple, secure platform – no special software to download, just click a link from your secure patient portal to join your session.

What happens if my internet cuts out during a session?

If connection issues occur, your therapist can help you sort out simple fixes, or can call you to continue the session by phone, ensuring you receive your full session time. Most technical problems are resolved quickly and our therapists are trained to assist with common technical issues.

Is online therapy as secure as meeting in an office?

Yes, we use a HIPAA-compliant platform with end-to-end encryption designed specifically for healthcare. Your sessions are never recorded or stored, and all communications are protected by the same confidentiality laws as in-person therapy.

Is online therapy really as effective as in-person?

Yes, extensive research shows online therapy can be just as effective as in-person care for most mental health conditions. While there are some populations or concerns that may be best served in person, many clients prefer online sessions because they feel more comfortable and open in an environment they chose.

Insurance & Scheduling

What Happens When You Call:
  1. A team member will ask a few simple questions about your needs and online therapy preferences.
  2. We’ll help answer basic insurance questions, but recommend verifying your network and benefit coverage with your insurance.
  3. We’ll suggest an online therapist who fits your preferences and schedule.
  4. You’ll receive secure login instructions and schedule your first online appointment – often available within the next week.
Where can I access online counseling?

Online therapy is available throughout Wisconsin from any private location with reliable internet access. For specific location information, check out our contact us page.

How do I pay my bill?

We accept most major insurance plans, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Quartz, Aspirus Arise, United Healthcare, Aetna, and many others. To verify your benefits and explain your coverage, we recommend verifying with your insurance provider.

If you don’t have insurance, we offer competitive self-pay rates with payment plans and sliding scale pricing available for those who qualify.

How quickly can I see a professional?

We offer daytime, evening, and limited weekend online appointments, with next-week appointments often available. Online sessions provide maximum flexibility, but you can always switch to a clinician that provides in-person appointments if your needs change.
