Brittany Mueller, APSW, is an Advanced Practice Social Worker with experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in both correctional and outpatient mental health settings. Brittany’s approach is grounded in trauma-informed, person-centered care, with an emphasis on creating a space where clients feel safe, heard, and respected. She believes therapy is most effective when clients feel understood rather than judged, and strives to meet each person where they are while helping them develop insight, coping skills, and confidence in their ability to navigate life’s challenges. Brittany’s experience working within the criminal justice system has also shaped her understanding of the ways trauma, systems, relationships, and life circumstances can intersect and impact a person’s mental health.
Brittany is particularly passionate about working with individuals who have experienced trauma, anxiety, depression, difficult life transitions, and challenges related to self-worth and emotional regulation. She is also interested in supporting individuals involved in or impacted by the criminal justice system, including exploring the experiences and relationships that can contribute to patterns across generations.
As she continues developing her clinical lens, Brittany values curiosity, continuous learning, and the intentional tailoring of treatment to each individual rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. She incorporates evidence-based approaches, including cognitive behavioral and motivational interviewing techniques, while working collaboratively with clients to understand where they have been, identify what they need, and build toward where they want to go.
Outside of the therapy room, Brittany values personal growth, and finding meaning in the everyday moments of life. She believes seeking therapy is an act of strength, and feels privileged to walk alongside clients as they work toward greater self-understanding, healing, and fulfillment. When she’s not working, you’ll most likely find her spending time with her dog, Winnie, who is a constant companion and a very important part of her life. Brittany believes that the relationships and connections we have, both with people and our animals, can bring an incredible sense of comfort, joy, and grounding to our lives.
