Dr. Ernest Ivey, M.D. is a Licensed Psychiatrist. In 1976, he obtained his chemistry degree from Southern Adventist University in Collegesdale, Tennessee.  Dr. Ivey subsequently worked as a respiratory therapist and a biomedical service engineer until attending Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia where he graduated in 1993.

After completing his medical training, Dr. Ivey then obtained his psychiatric residency at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, completing training in 1997.

Dr. Ivey offers compassionate and evidence-based care. With nearly 30 years of experience in psychiatry, Dr. Ivey has gained a reputation for his holistic approach, integrating medication management with psychotherapeutic insights to treat a wide range of psychiatric disorders. He specializes in general psychiatry for adolescents (ages 12+) and adults with extensive experience in telepsychiatry.

Dr. Ivey is deeply committed to advancing the understanding of mental health issues. In his practice he emphasizes a patient-centered approach, ensuring that all patients feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their treatment decisions.
