Behavioral Health Clinic has expanded its network to 17 service locations across Wisconsin, including new locations in Cedarburg, Milwaukee, West Allis and West Bend. The growth brings BHC’s multidisciplinary model of outpatient care to more individuals and families throughout Greater Milwaukee and communities across the state. BHC’s team now includes more than 100 clinicians who collectively provide over 80,000 appointments each year. Depending on location and clinical need, services include individual and family therapy, psychological and neuropsychological assessment, psychiatric medication management, and speech, language and communication services.“Our focus is making sure people and families in the Milwaukee region have access to quality behavioral healthcare close to home,” said Shannon Schaefer, Ph.D., founder and co-owner of Behavioral Health Clinic.
Expanding access through coordinated outpatient care
Mental-health care can become fragmented when people must work with separate organizations for therapy, diagnostic assessment and medication management. BHC’s multidisciplinary structure allows its clinicians to coordinate care—with appropriate patient consent—so individuals and families have clearer paths from evaluation to treatment. The organization’s expanded footprint now includes Wisconsin service locations in Brookfield, Cedarburg, De Pere, Eagle River, Eau Claire, Fort Atkinson, Grafton, Madison, Marshfield, Merrill, Milwaukee, Sheboygan, Stevens Point, Wausau, West Allis and West Bend, along with BHC’s Center for Children & Adolescents in Wausau. BHC also serves patients through a location in Alexandria, Minnesota, and through eligible telehealth services.Services for children, adolescents and adults
BHC provides services across the lifespan, with clinicians experienced in a broad range of needs and specialties. Available services include:- Individual, couples and family therapy
- Child and adolescent mental-health services
- Psychological and neuropsychological testing
- Autism, ADHD and learning-disability assessment
- Psychiatric services and medication management
- Speech, language and communication assessment and therapy
- Feeding and swallowing therapy
- Neurodiverse-affirming counseling
- In-person and telehealth appointments, when clinically appropriate
Service availability varies by location and provider. No referral is generally needed to begin services, although some insurance plans and services—including certain Medicare-covered testing and assessment services—may require one. Patients should verify coverage with their health plan.A Wisconsin-founded organization
BHC was founded in Wisconsin and has grown by focusing on accessible, evidence-informed and coordinated outpatient services. Its expansion reflects both the continuing need for behavioral-health care and BHC’s commitment to providing that care in the communities where patients live, work and attend school. Behavioral Healthcare Network recently reported on BHC’s Greater Milwaukee expansion and the opening of its West Bend location.Find care with BHC
