Karen Prochaska, MAC, LPC-SAS is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Substance Abuse Specialty. She earned her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Lakeland College in Wisconsin. Karen has more than a dozen years of experience working with teenagers and adults who struggle with chronic mental illness, trauma, depressive disorders, suicidal ideations, substance use, schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder, and anxiety disorders.

Karen utilizes an integrative approach that is goal-oriented and client-centered as each client has their own story. Through the therapeutic relationship individuals explore their strengths, what has worked for them in the past, and options that can assist them to facilitate change.

She has certifications in Trauma, Mindfulness, and DBT. Her approach may include, but is not limited to, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Emotional Freedom Techniques, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
