John Roherty, APSW

Advanced Practice Social Worker

John Roherty (APSW) is an Advanced Practice Social Worker. He earned his Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2023. Before that, he earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2021. While there, he double-majored in Psychology and Spanish, and he minored in Ethnic and Racial Studies.

John specializes in working with adolescents and young adults and takes great joy in establishing empathetic, collaborative, and trusted connections with clients. He has developed particular therapeutic interests in the areas of trauma, social injustice, and athletes (both current and retired).

John employs an eclectic, strengths-based approach when working with clients. He utilizes techniques from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Polyvagal theory. John is a proud provider of trauma-informed care.
