Licensed Professional Counselor

Carly Maas, MS, LPC, SAC-IT, is a licensed professional counselor. Carly holds her bachelor’s degree in psychology from UW-Madison, and a master’s degree from UW-Whitewater in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, along with her in-training license for substance abuse counseling.

Carly has been in the counseling profession in community mental health for about two and a half years, and in that time has worked with a very diverse population of individuals. This includes many different mental health diagnoses, substance abuse diagnoses, ethnicities, LGBTQ+ population, socio-economic statuses, and more. Carly practices from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach where thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are discussed regarding how they interact and effect how we view ourselves, other people, and the world.

Carly focuses therapy on what the individual would like to work on and guiding them through that process to help them reach their goals. Carly emphasizes a person-centered approach, where she uses a supportive, empathetic environment to help individuals feel heard, not judged, and comfortable to discuss what is going on for them.
